Back when I was still looking for a job, I took interest in a studio that shared their enthusiasm for foosball on their website. After some brainstorming over coffee with a fellow graphic designer, Georgia Castellano, she suggested, "Why not send them a ransom photo of a foosball player with your resume?" That sparked into a complete package, producing a multi-paged playbook, ransom-note-cover-letter, resume, printed photograph, all mailed directly to their doorstep.
